CBSE Board (Central Board of Secondary Education) has modified the standard of education in India. This board has always evolved with the time as we are moving forward with the level of education. CBSE board is considered as the oldest educational board in our country as it was formerly known as the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School till 1921 which was under the jurisdiction of Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior which was changed by name called Central Board of Secondary Education in the year 1952. However, in 1962 it was again transformed to manage the fundamental necessities of the government employees of the central as well as state whose children are studying as for their transferable jobs. CBSE board provides the affiliation to the schools all over the country, and now they are providing affiliation even to other parts of the world.

The CBSE board is accountable for managing two board examinations

  • 1) For class 10 they have the AISSE board (All India Secondary School Examination)
  • 2) For class 12 they have the AISSCE board (All India Senior School Certificate Examination)

As the AISSCE examination conducts for class 12th is granted for the higher education like Undergraduate and postgraduate all across the world. The aim of CBSE was to attain certain level of heights in the field of education and established as the pillar by its objectives that added value to reach that position. These objectives are:-

• To make a system of for the class X and XII end examinations properly.

• Passing certificates will only be granted who have passed successfully by any CBSE affiliated schools.

• Always try to update the course of instruction and prescribe it for the examination.

• To uplift the educational level of our country one should grant the affiliation to the institutions with a purpose of taking examination and to build an opportunity for better future.

As to achieve this objective in reality CBSE has set different rules and regulations that need to be followed by educational institutes and by the schools which are affiliated to CBSE board. Now CBSE is not only focusing upon the overall development of the student, so they are coming up with innovative teaching methods and learning methodologies which will make education more engaging and interesting for the students.

CBSE has brought major reforms in the field of education by reestablishing the evaluation practices and the examination pattern. Some devised rules and regulations by the CBSE must be followed by CBSE affiliated schools are:

• A student who strive to take admission in a CBSE school can only get admission if he/she has been studying in CBSE board and qualified the examination are only eligible.

• A student must be eligible only if he/she satisfies the age limit criteria of the CBSE School.

• A student must follow the guidelines and submit all his/her certificates like School Leaving Certificate/Transfer Certificate duly signed by the head of previous attended school before taking admission.

• A student must have each and every document in support that they have passed the examination.

• After frequent intervals of time the scheme of examination and the passing criteria for all the students for All India Examinations is surrendered by the board committee.

• As class IX and class XI examinations are conducted internally however class X and class XII students appear for All India Examinations.

• As Class X and class XII examinations are held by All India Examinations, so the exams are conducted on external basis.

• CBSE only provides its own curriculum for All India Examination which is also held under the board only.

• The board only sets the curriculum regarding the number of papers throughout the year, marks for each subject as well as duration of the examination.

• Depending upon the kind of subject/paper the exams are conducted in the form of theory or practical.

• A student who has appeared for the examination will only be graded as per his/her individual performance in each subject and the aggregate marks related to his/her performance in the examination. So, by these grades students will be allotted fully in his/her overall performance.
